The one-piece throwing star was created, folded, and photographed by John Paulsen.
The complete folding diagrams are now available.

The traditional Japanese throwing star
is made from two pieces of paper. This feature is highlighted by using contrasting colors of paper, at the expense of offending my sensibilities. (I prefer paper folding, not cutting.) Despite appearances, the two-piece model is substantially smaller than the one-piece model.
