What is a Bird Base?

The bird base is a low intermediate base that takes TO-DO: __-__ minutes to make.
A ten inch (25 cm) square makes a 10 " x 4 1/7 " (25 cm x 10 ½ cm) flat base.

The instructions are quite detailed. If they give you any difficulty, please let me know.

Diagrams for steps 1-3.
  1. Start with a square, colored side up.
    Fold a preliminary fold, colored side out.
  2. Valley fold the raw edges in to the centerline, and unfold. Repeat behind.
  3. Fold the top down, and unfold.
Diagrams for steps 4-7.
  1. Petal fold the front.
  2. Turn over.
  3. Petal fold again.
  4. The finished bird base.
